Kenzie's first year in 4-h was amazing. Her pig Kirby had a mental illness, I'm sure of it. He was out of his mind. The first day it took about 15 people to get him to the bathing area. In the process, he almost broke my leg off, knocked my throat into Kenzie's shoulder, and knocked my step dad Mark down resulting in a bloody elbow, along with many bruises.
I was so nervous for her, theres so much to remember!
Shake the judges hand when you come out
Hold your hand behind your back
Keep eye contact with the judge
Stay with Kirby
Don't run after Kirby
I don't know what I was worrying about, she was awesome!!!
First day she was awarded 4th place in breed. The next day was showmanship, she didn't place in that (it might of had something to do with Kirby starting fights). Saturday was the big day! It was the auction. She woke up Saturday morning puking. She hasn't been sick in YEARS, just our luck. So we got her ready and started the 45min drive to the fairgrounds vomiting into a trash can the whole way. Poor baby girl.
Time for Kirby to get auctioned off finally came. The bidding started at $2. She ended up with $10Lb for 260lb Kirby! (he lost a few lbs since the last post) Holla! My Brother Chad did some 'politicing' as my dad calls it and got my dad and a few friends to go in on buying him. Kenz perked up after that. As soon as we started our drive home the vomiting resumed.
